Generally speaking, membership fees are not tax deductible.
Donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia.

If you see Legacy Membership on your receipt, you hold a special place in our story.
Your commitment since our early days has helped to build the foundation for all our work.
A Legacy Member means you were once a Veterinary, Veterinary student, or Associate Member, under the previous Constitution. These membership categories no longer exist and our membership program has evolved: we are building something bigger!
Updated Membership Program
We have an updated Membership Program, designed to deepen your connection with our work and amplify our collective impact.
To make your ongoing contributions even more valuable, we'd love to transition your regular monthly payments to tax-deductible donations while inviting you to choose a a Membership tier that resonates with you.
Your options moving forward:
- Select a new Membership tier to maintain your voting rights and continue shaping our mission
- Continue your monthly contributions - no action needed! We'll automatically treat these as tax-deductible donations.

If you have Membership Payment on your receipt: Congratulations! You already have voting rights under our Constitution! Under our updated Membership Program, the first $50 of your contribution covers membership (non-tax deductible), with any amount above that being a tax-deductible donation.
If your Membership fee is only $1, we'd love you too to select a Membership tier that works for you to continue shaping our mission.
