ZerOctober: Clinic E-Waste Collection
We know e-waste builds up around the clinic and at home: from old mobile phones, random cords, keyboards, computers etc
For ZerOctober, why not organise a clinic and client e-waste collection?
Many electronics contain harmful materials like lead and mercury. These can contaminate soil and water. Proper recycling prevents this contamination. And many have valuable materials that can recycled and used again.
Organising a E-Waste Day should be as straight forward as:
- Choose a date for collection, say a month in advance
- Select an E-waste recycler to pickup from your clinic
- Find out what types of E-waste can be collected by the E-waste recycler
- Set up sorting boxes at your clinic for your team, and your clients to deopsit their E-waste
- Let your team and clients know so they can arrange to bring in their e-waste!
-
Share the results on your socials!
It's really important to let your clients and community know what steps you are taking for the environment.
Take photos when pick up occurs and share how much e-waste you've saved from landfill!
Depending on the interest, you may also want to consider organising a Mobile Muster (learn more here)... Vets for Climate Action has partnered with PhoneCycle to turn your old phone into a new voice for animals!
