Do you love connecting people with ideas that matter?
The Australian Veterinary Environmental Alliance (AVEA) — formerly known as Vets for Climate Action — is looking for one or more enthusiastic volunteers to take ownership of our popular Masterclass series, bringing together leading voices in veterinary sustainability and climate action.
And here's the best part: you can do this one with a friend or three!
About the Series
The AVEA Masterclass series is a free, online program open to veterinary professionals everywhere. Held approximately every three months, each session brings together inspiring speakers from across the veterinary and animal health sector to explore sustainability, climate action, and what our profession can do to make a difference.
The Role
As Masterclass Volunteer/s, you'll own this program end to end — from finding and confirming speakers, to hosting the live session and sharing the recording afterwards. It's a visible, rewarding role with real impact, and you'll have existing templates, run sheets and promotional resources to help you hit the ground running.
You'll be:
- Identifying, approaching and confirming engaging speakers
- Coordinating scheduling and logistics
- Drafting promotional content for social media and newsletters
- Hosting online sessions via Zoom — welcoming attendees, introducing speakers and facilitating Q&A
- Sharing recordings and gathering feedback post-event
This role requires approximately 4–6 hours per month, which can be shared if applying as a pair or small group.
About You
You don't need to be a veterinary professional — just passionate about the mission. You'll be:
- Organised and reliable, with capacity for a continuing commitment
- A confident communicator, comfortable hosting virtual events
- A self-starter who can manage speaker relationships professionally and warmly
- Enthusiastic about sustainability and climate action in the veterinary sector
- Comfortable with Zoom, email and Google Workspace
Whether you're flying solo or teaming up with a friend or colleague, we'd love to hear from you.
What's In It For You?
- Build connections with leaders in veterinary sustainability from across Australia and beyond
- Develop your communications, hosting and event management skills
- Play a visible role in a growing national organisation doing important work
- Flexible, remote commitment that fits around your life
