4. Sort carefully — and don't 'wishcycle'
Placing the wrong item in a recycling bin can contaminate an entire truckload, sending recoverable materials to landfill and costing your practice in disposal fees for something that had real value. If it can be torn, it can usually be recycled. If it is wet or soiled, it cannot. Check the Australian Recycling Label. Also check what your local council collects for free, and look into programs like Royal Canin's TerraCycle recycling initiative and soft plastics drop-off at your local Woolworths.
