Vets for Climate Action's Annual Report for 2025
On behalf of Vets for Climate Action, I'm delighted to share our 2025 Annual Report with you.
As climate change continues to threaten animal health and welfare – from record ocean temperatures devastating marine life to extreme weather impacting livestock and wildlife – the veterinary profession is stepping up with practical solutions and powerful advocacy.
Here's what we accomplished together in 2025:
✅ Delivered education to hundreds of veterinary professionals through 27 presentations and free Masterclasses
✅ Represented climate and sustainability at 12 major industry events from Sydney to Washington DC
✅ Brought veterinary voices directly to Parliament, reaching 150+ MPs with our Policy Priorities for the Australian Government
✅ Planted 200 native trees with Greenfleet, restoring wildlife habitat and corridors
✅ Expanded the Climate Care Programme in Aotearoa New Zealand, expanding trans-Tasman collaboration
✅ Established the Sustainable Equine Futures program, now piloting with leading equine practices nationwide
✅ Established the World Veterinary Environmental Alliance, uniting veterinary organisations globally around climate, sustainability and biodiversity
These achievements reflect the dedication of our small but mighty team and our passionate volunteers.
