World Veterinary Environmental Alliance: a global movement for veterinary sustainability

Seven years ago, a Facebook post and a home-made lunch brought together veterinary professionals and sparked what would become Vets for Climate Action. Today, that same energy is helping to power a global movement.

Join founder Dr Jeannet Kessels for a special Masterclass on the World Veterinary Environmental Alliance (WVEA) — what it is, how it came to be, and why it matters for the future of veterinary sustainability around the world.

Jeannet will share the story behind WVEA, its growing network — from the World Veterinary Association and World Small Animal Veterinary Association to the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe, the International Veterinary Students Association and national veterinary associations across the globe — and the vision for what coordinated global action on climate, sustainability, biodiversity and One Health can achieve.

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the person who has been championing this work on the world stage, and to ask the questions on your mind about where WVE is headed next, and how you can be part of the movement.

In this Masterclass:

  • The origins and evolution of WVEA
  • Who is involved and what they have committed to
  • The connection between WVEA and AVEA
  • The road ahead — and how you can be part of it

Plenty of time for questions and discussion — come curious.
