We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable volunteers to join our Equine Emissions Reductions Program Advisory Committee.
The Committee will advise the ongoing development and promotion of an Equine Emission Reductions Program, and play a critical role in shaping and guiding the development of programs and initiatives aimed at reducing emissions within the equine industry. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on advancing climate-positive practices within the equine sector!
Are you an equine veterinarian, vet nurse, technician, senior veterinary student, educator, or work in the equine industry?
Are you passionate about helping to drive positive change across the equine community?
By way of background, VfCA's Climate Care Program (CCP) is a self-paced, online education experience empowering vet teams to take the lead on environmental sustainability and help bring a halt to climate change. Created by vets and vet nurses for busy veterinary teams, the Climate Care Program is designed to generate realistic and impactful change.
We have had considerable interest from equine practitioners for a similar program, however the Climate Care Program (CCP) needs specific enhancements to expand its appeal in the equine veterinary community.
As a volunteer member of the Equine Emission Reductions Program Advisory Committee, you will be providing assistance and advice for the creation and development of an Equine Emission Reductions Program to engage specifically with equine vets and clientele. For example, land management, nutrition, pesticides and anthelmintics, and biosecurity measures are particularly relevant.
About the role
As a Committee Member you may be asked to:
- Create content for the Equine Emission Reductions Program (Equine Program)
- Recommend improvements to the Equine Program

- Promote the Program to networks and potential participants
- Speak, present or engage with the veterinary profession and animal care community about the Equine Program at industry events
- Support VfCA staff with other activities from time to time
You'll be supported by VfCA staff and our Committee Chair and have an opportunity to meet with like-minded colleagues every 2 - 4 weeks (online)
