With your donation, we can build climate resilience in the Northern Rivers veterinary network by:
Educating veterinary professionals about the risks that climate change poses to animal health and welfare, and community wellbeing
Building connections between veterinary practices and practitioners in the region through a Northern Rivers Regional Chapter of Vets For Climate Action
Helping flood affected veterinary practices to rebuild in stronger and more sustainable ways via VfCA’s Climate Care Program.
Empowering regional veterinary professionals to advocate for climate action
Outreach to the Northern Rivers began in May 2024 via our Rural and Regional Program and we are keen to continue this work.
A connected and thriving veterinary profession is crucial as climate change intensifies extreme weather events, especially in areas like the Northern Rivers. Veterinarians not only respond to community needs during crises but also advocate for ambitious climate action to protect both animal and human welfare. Having local practices working together will support sustainability efforts, and set an example of climate leadership for other industries in the region.
If you have any questions about this project, please email our Rural & Regional Lead, Dr Elise Anderson.
On behalf of the animals of the world who we love and care for, we send our thanks in advance.
