Professor. Emeritus Ralph Sims, Sustainable Energy, Massey University presents “Co-benefits from Reducing Carbon Foot, Hoof and Paw-prints".
Professor Emeritus Ralph Sims has worked at a very high level internationally including consulting for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on energy and rural development, advising the Global Environment Facility of the World Bank on scientific and technical issues, writing policy for the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century Global Status Reports and reporting on distributed energy systems for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Professor Emeritus Ralph Sims worked for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - the IPCC - leading chapter teams covering Energy Supply, Renewable Energy Integration and Transport and was Review Editor for the 6th IPCC Assessment Report on Mitigation. He received the 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award from the NZ Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority and became a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the King's Birthday Honours list, June 2023.
