Volunteer Opportunity: Events Team Member
About The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our team as Events Volunteers. As an Events Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in helping us plan, coordinate, and execute our organisation's events. This is a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to contribute to our mission and engage with our community. This is a remote, volunteer position with occasional on-site event support required.

Responsibilities
As an Events Team Volunteer at Vets for Climate Action, you may be asked to:
- Help with logistics such as equipment setup.
- Support marketing and promotion efforts for events
- Assist with event registration, check-in, and attendee engagement.
- Help coordinate volunteers and delegate tasks during events.
- Provide on-site support during events.
- Assist with post-event activities such as gathering feedback, compiling attendee lists, and cleaning up the event space.
- Setting up an event table at events with posters, banners, information QR codes.
- Talking/communicating with people at events.
- Collecting data such as names, emails, and contact details of event attendees.
- Ability to work autonomously with own initiative.
- Commitment to work in compliance with policies and procedures.
About you
- You may have previous experience working in the veterinary or animal care sector, or with an advocacy organisation
- You have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- You can commit to volunteering some time at events in your city/town
- You are passionate about action on climate and helping to drive positive change
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with volunteers and staff.
- Previous experience in event planning, hospitality, or customer service is a plus, but not required.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
Support That VfCA Will Provide
- Training in any necessary skills (e.g. event set up, public speaking regarding VfCA information, policies, and and purpose.
- All volunteers are reimbursed for travel expenses and parking fees.
- Training in any necessary skills (e.g. media training through CMC).
- A thorough induction process (please note you will be required to undertake the volunteer induction process and sign our Volunteer Agreement).
- Training in any necessary skills (e.g. media training through CMC).
- Practical and logistical support from Programs Lead, Team Leaders, fellow volunteers and other VfCA staff.
